This toy reminds us of the story "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel" because it's definitely not the most avant-garde or the most detailed, but it will get the job done.  Playing make-believe will continue long into childhood when this prop is available.  Operating elements are both left and right hand operable, with a wonderful whole hand movement for opening the excavator.  Part of the NIC construction vehicle series, it can be played with on its own or towed by the truck cab (sold separately.)  The quality of the design and manufacturing ensures long lasting play value beyond compare.  Ages 3+.  Approximately 7"x16"x18" extended.  Maple.  Germany
